THIM is a new mobile app from Thailand's Immigration Bureau, which sits under the Royal Thai Police. It is meant to be a single digital gateway for foreign nationals, covering arrival paperwork and travel services. Right now you can use it to submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) and to browse "Explore Thailand", a section with information, services and partner perks for your stay. Visa extensions, 90-day reporting and other services are planned but have no dates yet. The app went live on August 1, 2026 and is available on the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.

What THIM is

THIM is run by the Immigration Bureau as a one-stop platform for foreigners. The bureau plans to widen it over time to cover pre-arrival preparation, entry procedures, your stay, tourism information and visitor perks.

The app was first trialled in June 2026. The trial claimed entry registration in under 3 minutes, and group submissions for up to 10 travellers. It then went live on August 1, 2026. Since then it has passed 600,000 downloads and 580,000+ users, which the bureau puts at 97.2% of downloads.

What works now

<table> <tr><th>Feature</th><th>What it does</th></tr> <tr><td>TDAC submission</td><td>Submit your Thailand Digital Arrival Card in the app</td></tr> <tr><td>Explore Thailand</td><td>Links visitors to information, services and partner privileges during their stay</td></tr> </table>

The TDAC

The TDAC replaced the paper TM6 card on May 1, 2025. It is mandatory for all foreign nationals entering Thailand by air, land or sea.

It is free. You can submit it through the app or on the Immigration Bureau's website, since the app is an additional route and not a replacement. Any third-party site that charges you for the TDAC is a scam.

Explore Thailand perks

Partners in Explore Thailand offer coupons and privileges. You redeem them by QR code or promo code, subject to each partner's own terms. Launch participants include:

  • The Mall Group
  • GrabTaxi (Thailand)
  • Wipay
  • True Corporation
  • The Minor Food Group
  • Minor International
  • Bangkok Dusit Medical Services
  • Other private-sector firms

The bureau plans to add content on attractions, accommodation and activities.

What is coming

These features have been announced, but no dates were given:

  • Queue booking
  • Certificates of stay
  • Visa extensions
  • 90-day reporting
  • Visa on arrival at authorised checkpoints

The stated goal is a one-stop immigration platform. If you are on a long stay, keep using the existing in-person or website routes for extensions and 90-day reports until the bureau confirms these features are live in the app.

Why the bureau built it

Rising visitor numbers have strained the physical capacity of airports and border checkpoints. Immigration Bureau Commissioner Police Lieutenant General Panumas Boonyalug said the bureau turned to digital tools for this reason. The aim is to make entering and staying in Thailand more convenient, faster, safer and smoother for foreigners.

The bureau says the tools will improve efficiency and simplify procedures without weakening national security. It also says services will be added gradually, while maintaining security, data accuracy and personal data protection. The launch follows this year's changes to Thailand's visa exemption rules. More information is on the Immigration Bureau website.
