Don Mueang Airport (DMK) in Bangkok is operating flights and internal routes normally despite heavy rain and standing water in the surrounding area, Airports of Thailand (AOT) confirmed on September 26, 2026. Some access roads around the airport are affected by flooding, so ground transport needs a bit more planning, but nothing about the flooding has disrupted flight operations themselves.
Flights are running as normal
AOT has confirmed that flights and internal airport routes at DMK are unaffected by the heavy rain and standing water near the airport. Travelers should not expect cancellations from the flooding alone.
Getting to the airport
Some of the roads around DMK have been affected by flooding. AOT recommends using the elevated Don Mueang Tollway instead of surface roads, since it leads directly to the passenger terminal buildings and avoids the flooded routes.

What this means if you're flying through DMK
Don't count on catching a metered taxi at the airport right now, use Grab or the Red Line train instead. If you're taking one of the A1 to A4 buses, build in the extra 45 minutes and look for the relocated pick-up and drop-off point at the Service Hall building rather than the usual curbside spot. AOT is recommending travelers arrive 3 hours before international flights and 2 hours before domestic flights to give themselves a buffer against the road delays. AOT has also deployed staff around the clock to help travelers get through the airport smoothly.
